DJ Angelo McCoy is a filmmaker in Seattle with a soulful and visually evocative narrative style which stems from a deep-rooted passion sparked in his childhood. From sharing captivating ghost stories around the campfire to experimenting on YouTube, his early experiences nurtured a creative spirit. This led to his acceptance into TheFilmSchool’s Prodigy Camp at the age of 12, further propelling his journey as a storyteller. DJ’s notable achievements at the SIFF FutureWave and the NATAS NW Regional Emmy’s, along with his participation at the National Film Festival for Talented Youth, solidified his industry presence at an early age.

His academic pursuits spanned from Ballard High School’s film program to studying in the Shoreline Community College film department, learning 3D animation at the Academy of Interactive Entertainment, and culminating in a BFA in Film + Digital Content from Hussian College In Studio at Los Angeles Center Studios. This diverse education, along with over a decade of filmmaking experience, prepared him for his professional career.

DJ’s body of work covers a wide spectrum, from narrative and experimental films to promotional videos and music videos, while taking on various roles in the production process. His unique voice as a storyteller is enriched by his interest in myth, psychology, and esoteric practices, enabling him to explore the depths of the human experience and broader cultural themes. This approach has helped him create films that prompt reflection and dialogue on profound aspects of life.
